Phoebadius

(from 356/357 until after 392, bishop of Agen; Jer. Vir. ill. 108). In 358 Phoebadius wrote under the title Contra Arianos a polemical text against the theological statement by the Homoeans of Sirmium, which had been published shortly before (Hilary, De synodis 11); in his text he defends the Nicene Creed of 325 as the only true standard of faith, but at the same time interprets it from older traditions (Tert.
