Novatianus

… Novatian, a Roman presbyter (Cyprian, Epistles 30, 32, 55; Eusebius, Ecclesiastical History 4.43.13) who lived during the time of the Decian persecution (249-250). He had enjoyed a reputation as a leading theologian (already having written a significant work, On the Trinity) and during the time of persecution, when Pope Fabian was martyred, he assumed a strong leadership of the presbyters, … (J.
